English term or phrase: feedback inhibited
Hola, alguien sabe cómo se traduce "feedback" en esta frase?

A key step in lysine synthesis is catalyzed by dihydrodipicolinate synthase (DHDPS), which is feedback inhibited by the pathway endproduct (lysine) and, thus, plays a key role in regulating flux through the pathway.

"inhibida por retroalimentación" o "retroinhibida"
Explanation:
"feedback inhibited" se puede traducir "inhibida por retroalimentación" o "retroinhibida", que en este caso se refiere a que la enzima DHDPS es bloqueada por la concentración del producto final de la vía de síntesis, que es la lisina, cuando dicho producto se une al sitio alostérico de esa enzima.

In some multienzyme systems, the regulatory enzyme is specifically inhibited by the end product of the pathway whenever the concentration of the end product exceeds the cell’s requirements. When the regulatory enzyme reaction is slowed, all subsequent enzymes operate at reduced rates as their substrates are depleted. The rate of production of the pathway’s end product is thereby brought into balance with the cell’s needs. This type of regulation is called feedback inhibition. Buildup of the end product ultimately slows the entire pathway. Principios de Bioquímica. Lehninger. Capítulo 6. pp. 226, 227. Ed. 6a

Feedback Biology: a self-regulatory biological system, as in the synthesis of some hormones, in which the output or response affects the input, either positively or negatively. Dictionary Thesaurus.com
