midstream

Explanation:

Luck!

I agree with Gonzalo..

Explanation:
Although it literally means 'in the middle of the river/stream/water, it could be risky to translate it, especially as 'intermediario' -'intermediario' has a broad meaning and 'midstream' has a non-obvious, possibly metaphoric, specific meaning that I cannot guess from the context, particularly since there are three different contexts. (There is also the vaguest of possibilities that the word intended is 'mainstream'???? Say the text crossed the Atlantic a couple of times...???? 'Mainstream'in each of the contexts world mean 1. 'principal'; 2. a bit more difficult, possibly again 'principal' but there I have my doubts; 3.in the sense of 'standard' possibly. I'm not convinced though).

I will investigate and get back to you if I find anything, but I go along with G in that it might be better to use the English in 'cursiva/comillas'

Found it/them....

Explanation:
"By contrast to other Member States, the Dutch gas supply sector is not been based on extensive statutory regulation. Public regulation is limited to ///the exploration and production of natural gas on the one hand (upstream activities)/// and ///the distribution of gas on the other hand (downstream activities)///, i.e. the onshore and offshore Mining Acts and the Act on Energy Distribution of 1997 (Wet Energie-Distributie). ///The storage of natural gas and the construction of upstream pipelines are so-called midstream activities///. Currently the regulatory regime for these activities is limited to the provisions on safety and the environment in the onshore and offshore Mining regulations. As a result of the implementation of Directive 98/30 these midstream aspects will also be considered within the framework of the Gas Bill." See definitions (marked ///) above of up-, down- and midstream activities (Web Ref below).

Midstream activities (and companies) obviously refers to the intermediate stage between 'producer' and 'final distributor', possibly the main pipeline constrction and maintenance companies/activity.

'almacenamiento de gas y construcción de
de la red inicial/principal de extracción/red de distribución inicial/principal'is a suggested basis for translation, but use the original English and add a footnote, as it's meaning is very specific to extraction industries (see google/alltheweb under 'midstream'). Note that I say 'red de extracción' becuase from the definition of 'downstream' it's evidently not the entire network of pipes, and excludes final distribution within cities.
