Tech/Engineering - Computers (general)
English term or phrase: Boots
"We can do massive training closer to the operator on a smartphone, using their own device, right now, we’re doing tests in plants, so people have boots and computers and they can test themselves."

This is a part of a text regarding a meeting of some members of a automotive company. They are talking about new technologies that will help improving the work. I don't understand the meaning of "boots". I can only finde the meaning of "starting a computer" (arranque), but this does not make any sense in this context.

Could you explain to me what does "boots" mean in this context?

Thank you.
