The Pan Tool allows the user to interactively move the center of the map without changing the map scale.
*Step 1: Click on the Pan Tool to select it, the cursor will change to cross-arrows.
*Step 2: Click, drag, and release the mouse on the Map Display to "drag" the map in the direction you wish to pan. The Map Display will redraw, centered at the new location.

I have translated a user's manual including this device/tool for some European users. They decided to be more precise and specific and to call it exactly what it does, that is the above, once translated into Spanish
