English term or phrase: every other page
the student is to read every other page.
Lupe
una página sí y la otra no
Explanation:
Estoy de acuerdo con Angelote, quien ya lo había explicado antes, lo que quisiera destacar es que si el texto es para estudiantes y los estudiantes son niños, quizás fuera más claro decirlo en términos sencillos como:
Leer una página y saltar la siguiente o Lee una página y la otra no.

Buena suerte y saludos de Oso :^)

I agree with what class wants a student to read every other page? The things we have to translate sometimes do not make any sense!
Thanks to all of you!

disagree  Paola PCR: It doesn't say that in English!! :-)

-> I agree, it doesn't MEAN that in English. Sorry I've misread. It means: "página por medio".

Cada tercer página

Explanation:
I disagree with the other translation.
Every other page, means: read one, skip one, read one, skip one...
The translation of the phrase:
El estudiante debe leer cada tercer página.
It seems to me that it might refer to a text that is written in 2 languages: one page would be in one language and the other the same text in the other language.

cada segunda página

Explanation:
Estoy de acuerdo con Magdalena, pero pienso que es mejor decir cada segunda página... o sea, una página sí, otra página no, etc. Mira el ejemplo que he sacado del EuroDicAutom:

English Phraseology if a stand of drill pipe is disconnected at EVERY OTHER JOINT,the resulting length of pipe is called a double stand

Spanish Phraseology cuando una sarta de varillas se desconecta en CADA SEGUNDA UNION,la longitud de varilla resultante se llama doble

Hope this helps! :)

página por medio

Explanation:
Hi,

I'm a Spanish-native speaker. "Cada tercer página" is not a very good Spanish style. In fact, it was the very first time I saw it. If you look for it using Google, you will find no results. If you look for "página por medio" it appears 447 times. It IS Spanish.

In English it simply says "read one page, do not read this other page, and so on".

Greetings,

Poli
