En Panamá decimos, exasperadamente, "¡Estoy al borde!" y lo dejamos así, sin terminar, para implicar lo obvio: estar al borde de un colapso, de un infarto, de la locura... todo en sentido figurado, claro.

Generalmente es, como dijo Ruth, cuando la persona ya no puede más con una situación.

Otra variante es "estoy a punto de (colapsar, por ejemplo)".
