Hello all,

I have a problem with a phrase in English that I think my colleague has mistranslated (she is a native Spanish speaker) in the sense that I feel that that the translation loses the meaning of the original:

Labour, transport and any other direct, indirect or legal costs incurred are specifically excluded.

Cualquier coste directo o indirecto ya sea legal, laboral o de transporte queda totalmente excluido de la responsabilidad de ... (nombre de la empresa).

When in the original "direct and indirect" is used by the author as possible costs that do not occur to the author at the moment of writing, but in effect work like a "get away card" in possible liability claims in the future, the translation starts giving examples (because of ya sea) of direct and indirect costs. I feel that the meaning of the original does not come through, as in the original all 5 categories have equal value, whereas in the translation we have 2 main categories and 3 subcategories (examples).

Am I wrong? My Spanish is good enough to negotiate deals and contracts, but not good enough to translate. It is pretty important, cause it will define our warranty policy.
