In other respects, "solicitud de amparo constitutional" is certainly an appropriate rendering for "petition for writ of certiorari" ¡Saludos desde Madrid!

Rebecca: Me parece que hay dos solicitudes aquí:

(1) a lawyer’s preliminary-injunction motion (medida cautelar solicitada al tribunal de la causa, que aparentemente no ha sido respondida), y

(2) the same lawyer’s petition to the Supreme Court regarding motion

So, I understand the full phrase
“lawyer’s petition for writ of certiorari pertaining to his preliminary-injunction motion” as
“Solicitud de amparo constitucional respecto a su solicitud de medida cautelar previa”

Which country do you need this for? For example, the term "moción" in the judicial sense is only used in Puerto Rico as far as I know.
