Law/Patents - Law (general) / Divorce Decree
English term or phrase: exparte
I am translating a Divorce Decree from India, in English. I've come across the term EXPARTE in these two contexts:

Notice of the petition was given to the respondent but he failed to appear before the court and accordingly, he was proceeded exparte vide order dated 01.01/2019.

In exparte evidence, the petitioner examined herself as PW99 and the Petitioner closed the exparte evidence.

Do you think "en ausencia de la otra parte" is a good translation for both cases?

Thanks
