En el Black's law dictionary se lee que "applicable" quiere decir: fit, suitable, pertinent, related to, etc., me inclino, entonces por "aplicar las leyes pertinentes..." o "la aplicación de las leyes pertinentes...", etc. Espero que mi sugerencia sea de ayuda.

Explanation:
Creo que tratándose de un contrato tenés que traducirlo como "leyes aplicables", ya que son las que rigen en el caso particular y en el lugar específico donde el contrato se celebra. Pienso que traducirlo como "leyes vigentes" si bien no sería incorrecto, limita o restringe un poco el sentido. "Aplicable" va más directamente al punto. Dichas leyes son aplicables tanto por el campo específico que abarca el contrato como por el lugar donde se celebra.
