English term or phrase: deputy
The word "deputy" appears below the name of sbdy that signs a Certificate of Magistracy.

I believe that "representante" is not exact. What do you think?

suplente

Explanation:
If it means second-in-command, in Spanish it would have the prefix sub (as in subdirector). If not it would be suplente.

Explanation:
El término deputy se emplea para designar a la persona que ha de sustituir a otra que ostenta un cargo. Será la que firme y tome las correspondientes decisiones cuando el titular del mismo no se encuentre presente. En función del contexto deberíamos de buscar el término más adecuado para traducirlo, pues hay bastantes posibilidades. Desde suplente, adjunto, segundo, delegado...Por ejemplo, en el ejército, el "Deputy Chief of Staff" sería el "Segundo jefe de Estado Mayor". "Deputy Minister for the Interior" "Ministro Adjunto de Interior", Deputy Spokesman" "Portavoz adjunto", "Deputy mayor" "Teniente de alcalde" "Deputy civil governor" "Subgobernador civil" ·
Suerte.

"adscrito"

Explanation:
Si fuera útil, es el término que se emplea en México en tales circunstancias después del nombre de la persona quien por lo general es empleado de alguna dependencia pública actuando por autorización del titular, siendo éste Secretario del algún Juzgado o algo por el estilo.
