The safety factors and the hydrostatic design stresses for thermoplastic pipe materials given in this chapter are generally employed for the manufacture of pressure pripes and fittings because the pressure ratings or nominal pressures (NP) of a specific pipe or fitting are calculated from the dimension of the pipe or fitting and the hydrostatic design stress for the plastic of which the pipe and fitting are made.

Tenía entendido que pressure rating era la presión nominal, pero en este texto aparecen varias veces los términos pressure rating y nominal pressure. ¿Son sinónimos??...
