I'm working on a clinical evaluation report for introducers and there are references to other articles about procedures using those medical devices for a variety of purposes. In this one, titled "Two-incision technique for implantation of the subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillator" (http://www.revespcardiol.org/es/tecnica-dos-incisiones-impla... I don't understand the meaning of "between" in that context.

Any help would be appreciated.

Aunque se traduce con diversas denominaciones (la literal desfibrilador conversor implantable subcutáneo / por vía subcutánea también es aceptable).
En cuanto a between, hace falta más contexto, pero juraría que intenta decir que de cada dos pacientes consecutivos que recibieron un DAI, a uno se le implantaba utilizando la técnica descrita (y al otro paciente, se entiende, se le implantaba el DAI mediante técnica convencional). Como dicho, haría falta confirmar por contexto más amplio.
