Plain films are useful for diagnosing spondylolysis: a lateral view often allows identifying the isthmic lysis as a defect of the pars interarticularis with sclerotic borders, but the examination should be completed by 45_ oblique view. On this projection, spondylolysis can be recognized for the classic sign of the ‘‘Scottish terrier’s collar.’’ Single-photon emission CT is sensitive for the detection of spondylolysis in the acute phase; older or asymptomatic lesions can be silent because of the absence of active bone reaction. CT is accurate for the detection of lysis, which appears as transverse isthmic fracture with irregular rim and sclerosis (Fig. 8A) [21]. The examination should be performed with a reverse gantry angle (15%–25%) parallel to the axis of the isthmus; otherwise, differentiation between the lysis and normal facet joints can be difficult [23]. MRI is less sensitive and less accurate than CT; lysis can be distinguished on MRI as an interruption of the normal bony signal (Fig. 8B).

El problema es que no he encontrado referencias equivalentes en castellano y de ahí mi baja confianza...
