Los spots aluden a los círculos señalados en el papel filtro Whatman 903 (ver imagen a modo de ejemplo https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/catalog/product/aldrich/wha1053... ), utilizado para el "cultivo en seco" (versus cultivos en medio sólido o líquido convencionales). Sin conocer una traducción formalizada, entiendo se refiere con DCS a los "spots" de cultivo en seco; lo traduciría como áreas de cultivo en seco -o bien como puntos / zonas de cultivo en seco-, referido a cada una de las áreas circulares del papel filtro utilizado.
