I felt there were more people in there that were sicker than I was and they needed support. So I was tearing myself, holding up the wall and everything, and going from room to room meeting people who I felt were in worse shape than I was.

Explanation:
Hay dos ideas: apoyarse en la pared y el elemento humorístico que implica sostener la pared cuando la persona misma no puede tenerse en pie. En inglés se arreglan con esa frase hecha. En español tenemos que inventar.
