presta servicios como interno de tiempo completo...

Explanation:
That would be my opinion. Pasantía is good, but I don't think it is used in medical, more for lawyers, engineers, accountants, etc.

Best of luck!

Bacariado

Explanation:

7 hrs
...is a full time "internship"

Explanation:
This can be trasnlated in three different ways:
First, as "advanced student undergoing supervised practical training" it will be: PASANTE (Technical)or INTERNO (Medical). If it is a boarding school student it is then called INTERNO. Second, as in "to train or serve as an intern" it is "Entrenamiento o servicio bajo el régimen de internado".
Third, it can also be "to detain or confine (as in war time)" RETENER, CONFINAR.

Hope this is of help.

Servicio social

Explanation:
In Mexico there´s something called "Servicio Social" which you have to undergo during/after your senior year in universtity in order to get a degree. During this time your paid very little (if at all), because supposedly you´re giving back a bit of what your school has given you (as if tuition wasn´t enough).
Anyway, that´s the closest equivalent.
Only use this term if text allows cultural adaptation.

Just a note, I have always translated "servicio social" as a "compulsory community service"

Explanation:
since I think it is more accurate. I believe that a medical internship has a greater degree of learning and training that a community service connotation and thus would translate it as noted above.

interno

Explanation:

Fellow: A doctor who has completed medical school, internship and a residency, and has chosen to receive very specialized training in one particular treatment or research area.

¡Buena suerte!

Internado

Explanation:
But, it will help if you please give us an idea of the country you need this for, etc. In Mexico, my husband was a medical student, after graduating from the University of Mexico, he went to his "Internado" , (Internship)and it is full time (hospital). After that, he had to work a whole year providing social services, which in Spanish is "Servicio Social". Once he finished his medical studies, he went for his Residency... that is the field you are specializing... in his case it was Psychiatry, he was then a Doctor doing a Residency in Psychiatry. But I see all kinds of responses regarding the same subject and you got good answers. The thing is that we don't know what else is there in your text. In the United States, for example, we have students doing internships on their field of specialization, which in Mexico will be Residency (Residencia). Internship in Mexico is for students fresh from Medical School. Whereas in the United States, some schools allow the students to go straight to their speciality and then... they do their internship on their field of expertise. So, if this can help you, review the studies of your subject, but it's either Internado... right after medical school or Residencia.. once they got into a special field. I hope this will help you. Good luck.
