En el contexto dado las personas con demasiada autoestima (con exceso de autoestima) parece la opción más ajustada y que liga bien con la idea de narcisismo que sigue en tu texto. Diría que sobrestimarse no es exactamente lo mismo que tener demasiada autoestima.

Más sucintamente, las personas engreídas o vanidosas también podría funcionar.
