FEW HOME BUYERS WANT FIXER-UPPERS. Any realty agent will tell you the most difficult homes to sell are the fixer-uppers. I told my seatmate about the fixer-upper house across the street from mine, which sold last year for about 30 percent below what its market value would be if it were in top condition. It was listed for sale over a year.
