Hi! Again, while I see your point, in essence, I believe the bottom line is that the Asker has been given the English to work with to translate to Spanish. As you pointed out, the term is unusual (both in English and Spanish, IMO), but

It is what it is, IMO; I can't say whether I would go as far as to say the term "consumerism" is wrong!
