Hi! Again, while I see your point, in essence, I believe the bottom line is that the Asker has been given the English to work with to translate to Spanish. As you pointed out, the term is unusual (both in English and Spanish, IMO), but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumerism (Consumerism is a social and economic order and ideology that encourages the purchase of goods and services in ever-greater amounts). It is what it is, IMO; I can't say whether I would go as far as to say the term "consumerism" is wrong! (I understand it to be "choices" for want of a better term), and I can't come up with a substitute which would would be all-encompassing. Anyway .... Regards.

Seeing the original in italian I think the translation into English is incorrect: in italian Consumerismo is stated as a separate item from auto distribuzione. Also, in relation to your findings, I have found that consumerismo exists in Spanish but it would seem strange in this context.

I agree with you in part. I went back to the site to the Italian which says "Direzione Auto Distribuzione e Consumerismo". However, I think "consumerism", while strange, is more correct than "consumo", and I say this in light of http://www.jstor.org/discover/10.2307/252112?uid=3738312&uid... I could be dead wrong, but essentially I think it relates to "choices" for want of a better term. Regards.

Consumerism is consumismo. I think it is wrongly used in the source text.

Why is there a question mark (?) after 1991? IMO, it should be "from" and not "at" in the first sentence.
