"Nip" es la pequeña distancia entre dos piezas, por lo general rodillos. "Flooded nip" es una técnica en la que se hace pasar agua entre un rodillo y otra superficie muy próxima (por ejemplo una tela), con lo que se consigue una gran presión contra la tela. No conozco una traducción oficial, pero yo diría algo como:
