In Mexico, this terminology would be translated Explanation: Lay-off = Despido or more appropriately, Terminación del Contrato Laboral. Recall = Recontratación I am a lawyer in Mexico, so this is day to day terminology for me... hope it helps! Best of luck! |

I beg to differ with Delmar on Explanation: recontratación, since it means to rehire, whether an independent contractor or an employee. Since legal terminology does distinguish, at least in Mexico, between independent contractors and employees, both on rights and obligations and tax treatment, they are both hired or contracted. Since this is an employee handbook, binding upon employees, I suggest you _do_ use recontratar as a correct legal term that would express your needs. |
