I would like to find out the exact meaning of “unsupported” in the following context:

The vendor is about to release a new version of the product based on ESE, a move that will infuriate Microsoft. This company won’t want to see another product based on an ****unsupported**** interface.
(And later:)
Your choice will depend on whether you’re comfortable using a product that’s based on a formally ****unsupported**** interface.

I know it does not mean “incompatible” because it works with Windows. I guess it means either that Microsoft refuses to give technical support to servers using such interface or simply that the interface is not native and, therefore, not “official”. Can anybody confirm my suspicions? Is there any better translations than “no soportada”?

Dear FMF

yes indeed, if it is unsupported, it means that it is sort of unofficial, and therefore not meeting the requirements for technical support... not a "microsoft" product :)

No soportada is the standard translations and I think you should use it. Though, you could say "no respaldada", which means the same and sounds nice. Though, I would personally stick to "no soportada"... it's... "official" :)

Yo creo que puede estar utilizando el término con cierto matiz irónico, pero definitivamente pondría alguno de los términos anteriores.
