English term or phrase: DIAL
"The standard Swing classes don't have a component that's similar to an old fashioned dial-for example, the volume control on your radio. In this section, we implement a Dial class. The dial has a value that can be adjusted by clicking and dragging to "twist" the dial. As the value of the dial changes, DialEvents are fired off by the component. The dial can be used just like any other Java component. We even have a custom DialListener interface that matches the DialEvent class."
Es otro de "mis" componentes de JAVA.

Explanation:
The Oxford English-Spanish Dict. gives the following:
1 a (on clock, watch) esfera f
b (on measuring instrument) cuadrante m
c (of telephone) disco m
d (on radio) dial m
2 (face) (BrE sl & dated) jeta f (arg), cara f

I would use "dial" since a radio is mentioned in your context.
Google turned up the URL below (sorry it is so long).
Suerte.

dial

Explanation:
En este contexto yo usaría Dial (el dial de la radio). No sé cómo quedaría DialListener y DialEvent; creo que los dejarías en inglés.

Suerte,
Silvia
