English to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Business/Commerce (general)
English term or phrase:in violation of our default under
Can you please paraphrase the below sentence for me? thanks a million.
The company is not in violation of our default under, and no event has occured which, with the lapse of time or action by a third party, would result in a default by the company under any provision of any law, rule or governmental regulation applixcable to the company.
Explanation: ... and perhaps the sentence should read:
The company is not in default under, and no event has occured which, with the lapse of time or action by a third party, would result in a default by the company under any provision of any law, rule or governmental regulation applixcable to the company.
Now, if default (breach) is defined, I would understand that:
1. the company is not in default under any provision of the law, rule etc. applicable to the company, AND
2. there was no event than in the future (lapse of time) would result in the company being in default
Please note that default, although similar to breach, is usually a wider term and may include certain events not related to any action done on purpose, but still causing potential problems to the other party.
