English term or phrase:feel vested in the future
We want employees to feel vested in the future. We want employees to see us as an employer of choice.
I am confused with the meaning of "vested in" as my dictionaries tell me that “vest in” means to give the official and lawful right to possess or use (power, property, etc.) to (someone), but it seems it doesn't fit in this sentence. Thank you!
