English term or phrase: usual-suspects
Can you please explain "usual-suspects". I understand the literary meaning, but I need an articulate explanation. TIA.

Context:
Executive recruiters also succumb to the *** usual-suspects *** bias, primarily looking for new heads above other companies' necks. It is just plain easier to compile a list of sitting CEOs than to make a case for - or take a risk on - a COO or an executive VP.

English translation:obvious choices
Explanation:
Executive recruiters also tend to concentrate on the obvious choices, i.e. CEOs of other companies. ("The Usual Suspects" is a well-known film)
