@Michael. It seems to me that more context would help. It could be the time that something occurred, or the amount of time spent on something, or perhaps if something happened within a certain time frame. Can you provide a few sentences before and after?

concerning the appointed time, or time of a past event

The solicitor has been informed of a time in connection with a case.
Could be the time when he will have to appear in court, or it could be a time which forms part of the evidence.

Actually, "time and place" is such a common cliché in English that I wonder if the last word could be a misprint and should be PLACE (but this is pure speculation, "pace" could make sense too, concerning the speed at which he may be required to make his statements in court).

agree Mark Nathan : except I think PACE is the Police and Criminal Evidence Act http://police.homeoffice.gov.uk/operational-policing/powers-...

Thank you.
agree B D Finch : PACE as Mark says. It reads to me as a disclosure regarding a relevant time. The "er" indicates that there was something not totally satisfactory about how the disclosure was made.

Thank you. Yes. I get the impression that the solicitor resents someone trying to tell him how to do his job.

telling me when to be there

my guess is it is refering to a particular time to be someplace.
