medium/33mm body sýze of the material Explanation: size or length of the material. ýt may also mean radýus of the material.. u need a hip surgeon -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 hrs 9 mins (2004-07-21 19:57:09 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- From this link I undertood that to be diameter of the pieces. You can also see images... http://www.totaljoints.info/prostheses_for_other_hip_replace... This link shows different stem types based on the material etc.. http://www.jri-oh.com/hipsurgery/Hip_Types.asp This link has images from an actual hip replacement operation. The last image is about the fixing the stem into Femur. If you can not look at an actual operation DO NOT CLICK on this link, images are bloody. http://www.bonecement.com/application/hiponest.html The bottom line is the millimetrik expression is used for the diameter of the stem, or the diameter of the material... The stem size 1 or other, does not give millimetrik length of the actual stem. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 hrs 12 mins (2004-07-21 20:00:02 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Actually, I may be confused you, with the size as well, when I draw a 40 to 60 mm diameter, that can easily be the head or the cup diameter, but can not be stem diameter. Anyways, once you look at the links I entered, you will have better idea... |
