English term or phrase: to have the most holes in his sock to pass the time
Hello! I find this paragraph very difficult, because it's culture bound. I have many questins about it, which I write in different postings.
"At Southwest, gate attendants are taught how to play games with customers, such as guess the weight of the gate agent, name three things to do in Tulsa and who has the most holes in his sock to pass the time if a plane is delayed. Flights attendants are liable to say anything over the telecom. The games are never in poor taste and the winners get a free dinner or a Soutwest fun hat"

So you are supposed to guess who has most holes in their sock? :-D lol Could yopu please help me out?
Thx,
Luca

Silly game? May be highly entertaining (if you lead an extremely boring life!) Who knows?

Notes to answerer
Asker: Ooops! You are right! "to pass the time if a plane is delayed" refers to all games, not just to the last one! Thx Nesrin! Anyway, I think Luca

Asker: I think it's a silly game, isn't it? lol Luca

-> Yes that's what I meant - not that the English is unclear but that the things described there are weird.
