syn.: (v) stamp, print, impress, mark engrave, emboss Explanation: (n) impression, print, mark, indentation. (Fr. Oxford Thesaurus). Hi Albert! There's no real difference between "printed" and "imprint" as an adjective (print: stamp, mark) except that "print" is also used for pre-printing processes (send to press, run off, pre-print, reprint, pull, proof, copy, reproduce, lithograph, chromolithograph, silk-screen). Thus, it applies to Desk-top Printing, which is not the case with imprint. Note that it also covers the "artisan" type of work, and that "imprint" covers embossing. Hope it helps, I'm not too clear on what you need. Oxford Thesaurus |
