He'd got one back in, nothing considered as a good right hook or a rondhouse kick, or any of the more refined moves he'd been taught at one time or another -instead it had been the automatic brute response of the hard man out on a drunken Saturday night and he had nutted the guy full in the face.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks. Does it mean during the fight it the best to use a good right hook or a roundhouse kick but except one day he hit a man full in the face? Is this a misunderstanding?

Asker: OK. Then I would also say that he was supposed to give a good hook with right and or a roundhouse kick but he didi something else which is brutal and automatic response.

agree  Tony M: And yes, Asker, that would be a misunderstanding; all it means was this was the spontaneous, violent move of an angry man, not the calculating, planned action of a sportsman
