English to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature
English term or phrase:on 'change
1. John Galsworthy wrote a novel, "On Forsyte Change."
2. Charles Dickens's "The Old Curiosity Shop", Chapter IV:
"(Mr Quilp) made appointments on 'Change with men in glazed hats and round jackets pretty well every day."
Could someone please give me insight into what this expression means?
