I/O card setting (computer hardware) Explanation: Any of a number of input-output (I/O) devices can and do require specific types of addressing for their cards. Cards can come in 4-, 8-, 12-, 16-, 24-slot sizes - I'm sure there higher numbered slot sizes as well.
