The English makes very little sense. Yes, a venue is a location, but normally in the sense of a place large enough to hold a number of people. "The French doors" isn't exactly a venue ("How many people can the French doors hold?" is a nonsense question, whereas "How many people can the venue hold?" would be a perfectly normal one. There are various things which might be intended but which the writer has failed to express - perhaps it is the patio and gardens that are the arrival venue, or perhaps the French doors are the point of arrival, which people pass through fairly quickly to get to the event proper. Or perhaps the intended meaning is "meeting point", if a small number of people is involved. I don't think the real meaning can be deciphered from this text (although the surrounding text might shed light on the matter). |
