In this situation, the girl is a high school student. She is definitely not a farmer
to be called a "granger" in a literal way. That's why I believe it's some kind of insult for not inviting the boy to her party.
This is very interesting. She is actually as intelligent and intellectual as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter. Thanks a lot for that hint. Not sure though about "her-whiny" yet since Hermoine wasn't really a whiny girl, or was she?
