neutral  Nesrin: Although single mothers are not common, that doesn't rule out the existence of single fathers (e.g. widowers).

أعتقد إن الأبوين يقصد بها الأب والأم أما الأباء فهي جمع الأب ولذا فيه للذكور فقط
