English term or phrase: Front line officers
Front line officers can provide important information to intelligence officers. This is a vital component of modern day policing techniques.

At the front line level, front line units need intelligence about the activities of criminals so that they can take case-specific action to achieve enforcement objectives.

"front line" officers
Debaat al-wiHdaat al-ta3bawiya -- ضبات الوحدات التعبوية

Explanation:
'Officers of tactical units' ضبات الوحدات التعبوية is more apropos.

The term "front line" seems used excessively as an adjective in the source text. In any case, that term no longer applies in the modern military operational environment, as the current term is "battlespace" (or "battle space"). This contemporary term encompasses and includes what used to be considered the front lines and rear lines in a unit's assigned 'area of operations.'
In actual practice, well-trained soldiers and NCOs (sergeants) in tactical units are the main and first sources of reliable combat information that can be processed, analysed and converted into "tactical intelligence products" (report, situation template, map overlay graphic, etc.).

I am an advisor and trainer on this concept and related military subjects.

Khair, in shaa' Allah.

agree  Lamis Maalouf: ضباط الوحدات التعبوية Based on your explanation about the word "units" being understood.
5 hrs
-> The term "units" is understood, as officers are assigned members of their units and are not deployed as an "unconnected" individual.
