English term or phrase: doubt
I was just wondering if there was an Arabic equivalent for the word doubt. If not is there a word for unsureness or reluctance?
Ricardo M. Stanley
Arabic translation:شَكّ
Explanation:
If you cannot display Arabic text on your computer, or if you cannot read Arabic, here is a pronunciation guide:

doubt or uncertainty: SHAKK (short A, like the A in “errand”)

reluctance: IHJAM إحجام

Like most languages, Arabic offers a large number of synonyms and near-synonyms for these two terms and for others as well, suitable for all kinds of contexts. The terms I am suggesting are the most basic.
