English term or phrase: personal card / ID number
Actually, I don't need the Bulgarian equivalent (this is a translation from English to Hungarian), but I'd like to know if "card" in this case means a plastic or similar card or is "personal card" just the name for this identification document? (The wording would be different in Hungarian, where for the time being we have both.)

Also, I'd like to know if the ID number refers to some personal identification number, individual to each citizen or it is just the number of the document/card issued.

TIA,
Eva

Bulgarian translation:explanation below
Explanation:
Hi Eva,

Our identification document in Bulgarian is officially called Identity Card (not personal card) which refers to both - the name and the plastic card itself. The ID number, however, is called personal number and, yes, it's a number individual to each citizen (formed by his/her date of birth and other 4 numbers at the end). In this case, as you have the two terms given together, I suppose that "personal card" refers to the name but not to the fisical document.

agree  Evelina Mineva: I think we make distinction between "personal card" (fot identification inside the country) and "passport" (for identification abroad)!
