English term or phrase: purring
He was in for his morning bath...he usually really dislikes
them...consantly trying to climb out. Well, I sat with him this time
(i'm usually making his meal while he's in the tub) and stroked him
gently on his neck AND HE PURRED! I think it surprised him,
too.... After he did that he kind of looked up at me like he was
saying "Was that me?".

ronronejar / roncar
Explanation:
The dictionary says roncar. I would say ronronejar and I'm sure a lot of people would, but if you're writing you should probably write roncar.

Traducció Diccionari Avançat Català - Castellà Vox
ronroneo
