Submission Rules

Using the submit rules built into the XForms specification, it is possible to submit the data portion of the form to a server. When submitting data, the rest of the form is ignored so that only that data is submitted. A complete data instance or a portion of the data instance may be submitted. The designer specifies a root node to be submitted, then that node and all of its children will be submitted. Submission rules set the following:

Where data goes (which server and port)
How data is sent (get, put, post)
The MIME type of the data
