English term or phrase:The Spanish conquistadors.
The Spanish conquistadors were soldier-explorers who conquered much of the Americas for Spain in the 16th century. They included men like Ponce De Leon, Hernando Cortez and Francisco Pizarro. I was wondering what they are called in Mandarin Chinese? Most languages, like English, seem to borrow the word from Spanish. Icelandic has its own word for the Spanskur Landvinnegamadur or "Spanish land winning men".
