English to Chinese translations [Non-PRO] Tech/Engineering
English term or phrase:Be Strong, Get Stronger
To be strong physically, mentally and emotionally,
But to get stronger
Explanation: In pin-yin, the long answer comes out as "yao zai ti-li-shang, zhi-li-shang he xin-tai-shang jian-qiang, er-qian yao zeng-chang zhuo-zhuang."
The translation is quite literal.
The word 璶 (yao) is added in both the first and the second parts of the passage. It means "want, wish" and is in the imperative mood.
The word "but" in the original is rendered somewhat unusually into τ (er-qian) which means "and, in addition, further, etc."
And the English word "stronger" becomes "to grow, increase, strengthen, etc." in Chinese, instead of only a comparative case adjective.
