English term or phrase:deviation-reducing and deviation-amplifying (feedback) mechanisms
There are other mechanisms that are common foci of family therapy with dysfunctional families and are frequently awry in the burnout environment, but they do not appear to play such a central role in defining the specific trauma-related nature of the environment. These mechanisms include boundary problems (Minuchin, 1982), lack of differentiation (Bowen, 1966), and the general systems notions of homeostasis and deviation-reducing and deviation-amplifying (feedback) mechanisms (Tackson, 1957; Maruyama, 1963).
