English to Czech translations [Non-PRO]
Art/Literary / Buddhism, Haiku, Poetry
English term or phrase: The void bites its tusks.
Haiku

To slice through Buddhas, Patriarchs
I grip my polished sword.
One glance at my mastery,
The void bites its tusks.

I have a suspicion that when it was translated into English from the original - Sanskirt or Japaneese ? - the "bites its tusks" was an idiom, which the translator didnt know....

Czech translation:prázdnota si kouše [vlastní] kly
Explanation:
It might be an idiom, but not necessarily: It seems the verse expresses an iconoclastic idea in which Buddhas and Patriarchs are false god and authority, and as such, being emptiness, fear the might of the hero. The imposter bites its tusks, symbols of strength which it does not possess. If the imposter was for real, he'd be biting the enemy, not its own tusks ...

But then again, I'm not a poet.
