Allowances must be made for the turbine horizontal centerline rise due to thermal expansion relative to that of the driven equipment (see Chapter 4.8 - Alignment).

Allowances for any axial expansion of the shafts should be included in the gap.

The position of maximum runout should be marked on the hubs before continuing alignment and allowances made for the hub runout during alignment.
