Explanation:
Actually the most accurate translation is "topnøgle top" but that does not only sound ridiculous it's also unimportant just as the word socket itself. Sure you can use bits on a wrench as well, but for the purpose given in the example obviously not.

Asker: Det er en almindelig nøgle, som man kan udskifte 'hovedet' (socket) på, så 'hanefod' må i hvert fald være rigtigt. Hanefodstop? Hanefodsled?
