En hård algoritme vil dog føre til mere støj i billede og derved en dårligere LKO. Konsekvensen heraf er, at det er vanskeligere at skelne forskellige typer væv fra hinanden som har næsten samme CT-
tal. Vævstyper der har CT-tal der ligger tæt på hinanden er oftest blødt væv. En blød algoritme vil derimod give mindre støj i billedet og derved bedre LKO, men RO vil blive dårligere. (...) Her kan radiografen vælge i et interval fra blødere filtre, over til et standart filter, til hårdere filtre. "
