English term or phrase: High idle speed
Høj tomgangsfart, as opposed to just idle speed, being either tomgangsfart or langsom fart, I suppose. Can these distinctions be made clearly in Danish, somehow?

Høj tomgangshastighed
Explanation:
I would prefer to use the term "hastighed" instead of "fart" in this context. "Fart" is usually used for moving objects.

Idle speed could just be called "tomgang" - ie. "motoren går i tomgang", while high idle speed would be "høj tomgangshastighed" - ie. motoren har en høj tomgangshastighed"

Hope this helps...

ALlright I'll go with that. Still bemused by the various terms tomgang, friløb, frigear, and whether there is a hairline or substantial distincion. Tomgangsfart does exist in Danish and Norwegian, if you check google you will see, as fart and hastighed are pretty much interchangeable.
